"911" Hair rescue July 25, 2010 Julia Andrews (Peoria, Illinois) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Already color treated and highlighted my hair went into frizz overdrive this summer after a long illness with multiple medications. Hair really does reflect your body's well being. This brillo pad on my head was depressing.
Switching shampoos and conditioners (all brand name) did not alleviate the problem.
Then along came Alterna conditioner that I paired with the same shampoo.
Wonderful results! This helped not only my hair but my general outlook.
Alterna is "911" hair rescue. One of my best Amazon purchases this year!
Fabulous! July 10, 2010 sirrus98 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My hair was screaming for moisture! It was so brittle and felt like straw. This conditioner, combined with the shampoo really did the trick. My hair is so happy and super super soft! It's worth every penny!!! and I love the pump container!
Worth every cent! July 8, 2010 Autumn N. Empire (Maine, USA) My long blonde hair has always been so dry it looks and feels like straw. I always had split ends, and when I pulled my hair back I looked like Medusa: tons of frizzy, sticky-uppy bits around my forehead. I was convinced I had thyroid problems and would never have normal, pretty hair. Other shampoos and conditioners would work for a couple of weeks, then it was back to frizz and crunch.
In December 09 I went to a salon and got a haircut, and they used the Alterna. I was totally unconvinced it would work for me, but figured I'd splurge. The small Shampoo/Conditioner gift set was on sale for the holidays. I wasn't excited about the scent, but I decided to try it.
Fast forward to July, 2010. My hair is so soft and smooth and silky, I can't keep my hands out of it. I love to wear it down, because it actually shines in the light. I have very few split ends, and a ton of volume. It has not built up on my hair or weighed it down, though I do sometimes switch from the Seasilk shampoo to Alterna clarifying shampoo (found in a discount store for 5 clams! Score!) just to say I do. And get this: I still have half a bottle of shampoo (it was the 8.5 oz bottle, not the large 33.5) and I still have a week's worth of conditioner left! Almost 8 months to an 8 oz bottle is AMAZING! I definitely never got that mileage out of grocery store products. My hair is not as long as it used to be, but it's still past my shoulders, and it takes so little of this product to clean and condition, I'm convinced it actually saves me money.
The final straw is, I live and work on the Atlantic Ocean, and am constantly in saltwater. Between the salt, the sun, and the mineral-y, harsh tap water here, I cannot believe that I am able to have hair this healthy.
Hands down the best June 18, 2010 J. M. Lau (New York, NY) I have long (mid-back) problem hair. It is so curly and course that even though I get a Japanese straight-perm every six months, I still have to blow-dry it and flat iron it every day (p.s., I recommend Croc flat irons, they're much better than Chi). I also dye it every four months because the straight perm tends to make it bleach out. Despite the incredible mistreatment my hair suffers through with all the heat and chemicals, it looks fabulous, thanks to Alterna Caviar shampoo and conditioner. I used to use Kerastase, but nothing can hold a candle to Alterna. My hair is shiny, strong (I don't have any split ends, if you can believe that), and healthy looking. I will not use anything else on my hair. Alterna is expensive, but the bottles are big and a little goes a long way (I have long, thick hair and one bottle lasts me about six months). I'm a devoted fan, and if you try it, you will be too!
great shampoo May 17, 2010 E. Schultz (door county, WI) Exactly as I expected, the real stuff, nice big bottle and it came with pump! GREAT CONDITIONER too, makes your hair very soft and healthy feeling.
